Robert Horry Park

North Cotton Street Park was developed in 1983 as a part of the Community Development Block Grant Program.  The park was renovated in 2004 and renamed in honor of Andalusia native Robert Horry.  Robert honed his basketball skills on the court located here. He was a star athlete  at Andalusia High School and the University of Alabama. He played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), winning seven championships. He is one of only two players to have won NBA championships with three different teams: two with the Houston Rockets, three with the Los Angeles Lakers and two with the San Antonio Spurs. Because of his clutch shooting in important games, he has earned the nickname "Big Shot Rob". Horry now works as a commentator on ESPN.
