• General

    All facilities of the Leisure Services Department of the City of Andalusia shall be under the supervision of the Director of Leisure Services.

    All persons who patronize the recreational facilities of the City of Andalusia Leisure Services Department or patronize the facilities under the direction of the department must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects favorably on the City of Andalusia.

  • Programs

    All programs operating under the jurisdiction of the Leisure Services Department shall be conducted under the leadership of the Program Director.

  • Finances

    The City of Andalusia shall conduct the financial affairs of each program.
    Expenses/Bills must be approved in writing by the Program Director, charted and authorized by the Youth Sports Coordinator before checks will be written. Once written, checks must be reviewed and signed by the Director of Leisure Services and the City Clerk. Checks will be written bi-monthly.

  • Tournaments

    Any event conducted on the facilities of the Andalusia Leisure Services Department must be under the direct supervision of the duly elected or appointed officials of the program or their appointees who sponsor said event. Any moneys above expenses derived from these events must go into the treasury of said program to help carry on operating expenses or for making improvements to their playing facility. Only tournaments sponsored by programs under the jurisdiction of the Department of Leisure Services will be allowed.

  • Informal Usage

    Informal groups may use the playing field facilities of the Leisure Services Department provided they are not scheduled for other use and if all rules and regulations of the park are complied with. There may be exceptions to this usage if the fields are being prepared for specific tournament play or other special activities.

    It shall be the policy of the Andalusia Recreation Board that only those teams who are an active part of a league sponsored by the City of Andalusia is considered sanctioned teams. The sanctioned teams shall enjoy the rights and privileges of such. This is to include city liability coverage, scheduled fields for practice games and any other support necessary to provide playing opportunities for the tams or leagues.

    Unsanctioned teams may use city facilities for practice on a space available basis. There practice facilities must be reserved through the Department of Leisure Services office. Cost for these usages will be $75.00 if lights are used. Maximum lights usage shall be for 3 hours per practice.

  • Conduct

    Alcoholic beverages, drugs and tobacco are strictly prohibited from all recreational facilities under the jurisdiction for the Andalusia Leisure Services Department. Abusive language, profanity and displays of vulgarity are also prohibited and subject to a fine. No loitering will be permitted and park visitors under twelve years old, should be under the direct supervision of their parents, or be actively involved in an organized program.

  • Vehicles

    Skateboards, skates, and bicycles may NOT be used in Johnson Park. These types of vehicles can however be ridden in the skate park area. Automobiles, trucks and other vehicles shall be operated at safe and reasonable speeds and remain on roads designated for their use. Violators are subject to a fine.

  • Litter

    Litter shall be placed in trash receptacles provided for this purpose at all parks and recreational facilities. Violators shall be subject to a fine in compliance with City ordinances. No person without authorization shall be allowed to distribute any circulars, cards or written matter, or to affix any placard, notice or sign on or within any property under the jurisdiction of the Department of Leisure Services.

  • Concession

    The policies for operating concessions at all facilities of the Andalusia Leisure Services Department are set by the Recreation Board. Any agreements already reached shall stand as set. Agreements for other concession shall be set by the Board at which time a request is made. These agreements shall be reviewed each year. The department shall operate all concessions with net profits disbursed in a pro rata basis.

  • Trophies And Awards

    No awards or trophies for general participation whose cost exceed three dollars ($3.00) per participant will be given by a program under the jurisdiction of the Leisure Services Department. League champion awards or special individual achievement awards are allowed with a cost of no more than ten dollars ($10.00) per award. No achievement awards will be paid for from the league treasury. Payment must come from a private source.

  • Advertising

    Advertising will not be allowed on park property unless specifically approved by the City of Andalusia Program Director, and its only in the event of a substantial contribution.

  • Recreation Department Buildings

    Organizations under the jurisdiction of the Recreation Department may schedule meetings of other events in the Recreation Department buildings if they are scheduled in advance with the City Recreation Department. Other organizations may also use these facilities if they are arranged so as not to conflict with department events. Private groups scheduling non-conflicting events are subject to a prearranged fee.

  • Playing Dates

    The games will be scheduled by the Program Coordinator of Athletics and approved by the Program Director for the City of Andalusia.

  • Miscellaneous Information

    Smoking, pets, artificial noise makers and ice chest are prohibited at all times.
