Gingerbread wins Christmas Decorating Contest

Shelia Sims’ gingerbread-themed Christmas décor at 214 N. Cotton won her first place and $500 in the City of Andalusia’s residential holiday decoration contest.
Dairy Queen was the first place and $750 winner in the business division of the contest.
Second place in the residential division went to Norma Riley, 301 Stanley Ave., while John and Amy Jones, 129 Sanford Road, won third place.
In the business division, second place went to the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition, and third place went to Harold’s.
Coordinator Vanessa Nelson said there were 17 entrants in the event, which was judged Saturday night.
